You asked a little about me.  My husband and I have been married for almost 45 years.  We have two grown kids and 3 grandkids.  Our oldest grandson (7 ½) was diagnosed with epilepsy last year.  This has been very hard on their family in many ways.   

Our background – we got caught up in a cult in our early 20’s.  We now realize how this can happen when you are not grounded and settled in the truth (It’s easy to get blown about by every wind of doctrine!)  You may know of Herbert and Garner Ted Armstrong and the Worldwide Church of God.  We were with that group for about 8 years keeping the law – feast days, Sabbath, 3 tithes etc. and enduring to the end hoping we would be good enough to get into the kingdom.  After leaving we were lost which I think it is a common problem when a person leaves a cult like group.  You don’t know where to turn.  I have a heart for JW’s as they are also are in a cult teaching a false Jesus and a false message.    

Years after we left, the organization splintered into many smaller groups still existing today.  HWA’s death and a big shake up in doctrine caused the collapse.   

It’s only been in the last 8 years we have learned about the grace of God.  A neighbor invited us to his house for Bible studies.  I hesitated but decided to go.  It has been a wonderful journey of relearning the Bible and the truth seeing what the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished for us on the Cross.  It’s not about us and what we can do to gain God’s favor.  It’s what our Lord has done for us.  Romans 3:21. " But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Romans 3:22.  "Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: "

So we now meet around his dining room table and study the word.  We have lost a lot of time and we want to understand the gospel and correct doctrine.  Understanding how we got our Bible became important to me and my Internet search on that topic lead me to your website.  I had no idea there could be a corrupted word of God.  I thought all Bible’s were the same and it didn’t matter.  I have since learned differently.
