The Trinity Reformed Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas.
Preaching and
Teaching - - - The Doctrines of God's Grace
We
are 'Trinitarian' believing in: The God and the Father of, our Lord
and Saviour Jesus
Christ the Son of God, and The Holy Spirit as our blessed daily
comforter and guide.
We are 'Reformed' following the scriptural exhortation of
Romans 12:1-2 "be ye [saints] >transformed by the renewing of your mind,<
that ye [saints] may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect,
will of God."
[emphasis
added.]
We are 'Baptistic' in nature demonstrating the scriptural
methods and practices of the Church of Jesus Christ as found
throughout the entire New Testament.
We are a 'Church',
an assembly of saints of God, baptized believers in our Lord Jesus
Christ congregating together to worship and glorify Him in daily
life and practice.
**This message from
our sermon archives covers the above points in more detail**.
E101 What's in a Name? - The
Trinity Reformed Baptist Church
We hold to the basic, historic precepts of the faith as outlined in
the London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689. We find our
closest fellowship with other like-minded churches that call
themselves Reformed Baptists. We take seriously our profession of
faith, and invite all who have a teachable spirit and seek to honor
our Lord Jesus Christ with their lives to worship with us.
We
open our worship services with a "Call To Worship" using a
text of scripture with challenging exhortations and admonishments. We continually hold forth the Word of
Life, as found in the Holy Scriptures. We follow the Commission of our Lord,
therefore, our only mission is to build up
the body of our Lord Jesus Christ, our risen Savior, by expositional
preaching of the truths found in His Word, living out our faith
each day.
We desire to see each member and visitor grow in the grace and
knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. We worship in spirit and
in truth by singing the blessed hymns of faith in praise unto
our great, eternal and majestic God of Heaven and our Lord Saviour Jesus Christ. We read the Psalms in
responsive readings each Lord's Day.
We
find the Authorized 1611 King James Version of the Scripture to be the most
accurate, sound and complete Bible of all available translations! Therefore, we love and use this
divinely-inspired text in all faith and practice and godliness. We
"Preach the Word;
being instant in season, out of season; reproving, rebuking,
exhorting with all longsuffering" as commanded by scripture for the
time has come when many will not endure sound doctrine, and have
turned away from the faith that was once delivered unto the saints.
We
forget not to remember our Lord's death in Holy Communion. Once each month after our
Wednesday Evening Worship Service, our congregation solemnly take the bread and cup,
remembering in the present, what Christ accomplished on the cross in
the past on our behalf to atone for our sins. We look forward to supping with our
Lord in the future in His Heavenly Kingdom, as He promised.
When we constituted
in May, 2006, we did not have an elder.
However, in the interim, we benefited from the pulpit-fill
teaching and preaching ministry of Bob Spagnuolo, who was ordained
to the gospel ministry in 1979 at Bible Baptist Church in Minot,
North Dakota. Bob has filled a number of teaching and preaching
ministries since his ordination, proclaiming God's Word. Therefore,
we are blessed with his preaching of sound doctrine each time we
assemble in our Lord Jesus Christ's name. During our annual business
meeting in January 2010 our congregation unanimously called Bob
Spagnuolo as our Pastor-Teacher and Elder of our assembly. Bob
continually proves himself faithful and preaches the Word of God with
conviction and passion.
Our Lord and Saviour has blessed this congregation in our
community, and has granted us with the recognition of our
Federal Government during April 2007 as a constituted religious
organization. We give our thanks and praise to our loving God
for His divine favor upon His work among us. We
are humbled that our gracious God has favored us with His presence
, as we enter into the fifth years of laboring in His vineyard. We pray
that His guidance and blessing will sustain us as we grow.
Since
we meet in our homes as did the early churches, we have few
overhead expenses. Therefore we are able to support many missions
projects, as listed on our
Missions Page, and continue to do so with our
monthly tithes and offerings. We do
not seek outside support for this work. We only ask for your
prayers that this ministry will honor our God and the Father of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ. Please join with us in our endeavors.
If you
are seeking a congregation that teaches sound doctrine and holds to
the historic Christian faith - "Come and dine!" We welcome all to
worship with us that has a teachable spirit and that hungers for
the living Word of
God, so that we can all grow in our Christian faith and practice in our daily
lives.
